Car Chase Rant

Okay, take out your crayons and prepare to color me 'mean'. I don't care if that's what people end up thinking about me, this bothers me, and if I hold it in I just may explode, so here goes.

Why does there have to be a car chase wherein the police feel they must pursue criminals to the extent of an above 100 mph rate of speed? I think the police are criminal when this type of car chase occurs.

A St. Louis police officer was killed in a car chase accident after a home breakin. Yes, this is a sad situation. I do, however, want to bring up the fact that I do not think a car chase was necessary in this situation. The alleged criminal was apprehended the next day, so what would have been the harm in this office NOT putting his life in danger, and the rest of the public's lives in danger, by allowing the suspect to flee the scene?

I resent police car chases and proclaim them to be just as criminal an activity as whatever the pursued person had done. They put my life, my families lives, and the lives of all our local citizens in danger, from babies to seniors. It was only by the grace of God that some other victim's life was not also claimed along with his.

If it's mean to say this man wasted his life in an unnecessary pursuit of the alleged criminal, then so be it. I doubt anyone can change my mind about it, and I'm glad you let me get it out.

I'm going to go plant something now, and watch it grow. Praise God!
