Garden

Well, if we're to sustain ourselves off of our garden, we are going to be two, too skinny people. Between seed that is apparently to old to germinate, and weather that has fluctuated from very cold to very hot, including too dry to over-watered by flash flood type rain, not to mention (why do people say that and then go ahead and 'mention' the 'not to mention' thing?) the mole and ants that attack the few things that have grown, the garden looks more like a wasteland, than a place where food might grow. (wooohooo, I think I may have broken the 'run-on sentence' record right there.)

It's the saddest day when I think about that in a spiritual perspective. Seed keeps getting planted and fed, and there is only life in a few of them, and the life that's in those few, is systematically being snuffed out. The only small hope in it all is the potato plant, which at one time looked as if it would surely die, but has pulled out and become a most healthy plant indeed. Of course, its fruit is underground, and unseen, so it won't be known until much later whether there will be anything to harvest. I hope and pray the harvest will be as bountiful as could be expected from these very few seed potatoes.

Even as I type this, the rains once more are beating down upon the rows of seeds which have now melded together with the rivers of running rain. Though the replanting will be another joyful chore, my prayer, as my eyes are lifted upward, that God might have mercy upon this new effort to gain fruit unto His glory.

Amen

UPDATE

Well, that is the fastest recorded answer to prayer in my life. I went out and looked again, and there are plants coming up in the green bean rows, cucumber, and watermelon. It appears some lettuce is coming up, but it's so small, I hesitate to say 'for sure'. Only God knows. Praise Him and His longsuffering and mercy, grace, and seedlings!

Ahhh Debylin.....I could tell you stories about how my sense of humor has gotten me into trouble. Still, I do like to make people laugh......and cry cause they've laughed so hard, and sometimes, just sometimes, they even pass out.

Ask Josie and Jordon about that one.

Glad you made it to your destination safe and sound, I look forward to your blogging about your move and your process driven life.
